Apple Cranberry Crisp – If you're a fan of apple crisp, you'll enjoy this variation featuring sweet apples, tangy cranberries, and a spiced crumb topping perfect for the holiday season! 
And we shouldn’t overlook the cranberries. 

At this point, you likely understand my strong affection for cranberries. Whenever I spot them in the markets, I automatically grab them and consistently keep them available. The start of cranberry sauce signals a time for cranberry cooking and baking, whether it’s preparing my cranberry curd, shortbread bars, or my family's favorite, cranberry tea cake, which we enjoy making for our neighbors each year. 

However, this season, I aimed to present a new recipe for the holidays. 

As a fruit crisp is among the easiest yet most enjoyable desserts you can prepare, I prefer to keep things simple. However, it’s the holiday season, and we must add a bit more cheer to it. Several additional spices in the zesty filling and the flaky, rich topping accomplish this perfectly. 

INGREDIENTS 
  • 5 cups pared sliced tart apples (about 6 medium apples)
  • 1 1⁄2 cups fresh cranberries or 1 1⁄2 cups frozen cranberries
  • 1⁄3 cup sugar
  • 1⁄2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1⁄2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1⁄4 cup butter

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Lightly grease a 9-inch square baking pan.Pasta-al-forno-oven-baked-pasta.
Layer apples and cranberries in pan, sprinkling with sugar as you layer.
For the topping, mix flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
Work in butter with a fork until light and crumbly.
Sprinkle topping evenly over apples and cranberries.
Bake 45 minutes or until apples are tender..nice.Cool. Enjoy it !!!

Observations 

Prepare in advance: 

The topping or the entire crisp can be prepared ahead of time with ease. Seal securely and put it in the freezer until it's time to bake. That takes away one concern when hosting guests! 

Transform it into a vegan version: 

Fruit crisps are among the simplest desserts to prepare in a vegan way. Just replace the butter with your preferred vegan butter. Accompany with plant-based ice cream. 

Is it possible to use frozen cranberries? 

Certainly!
